Introduction to the Essential Configurations

Before you start using Givlly VMS, there is some essential information you need to set up first.
If this is the first time you are using a volunteer management system, it can be a bit overwhelming.
Below is some essential information to help you quickly gain familiarity when setting up your VMS.

What is Service Units?
This refers to the services that the social service agency is offering
e.g: Senior Services, Youth Services, etc.

What is Program?
This refers to the different programs under each Service Unit that your organisation is offering. Eg. Your organisation has a service unit that provides services or support to the Elderly, and it offers the following long term programs such as befriender, health screening and Ration Provisioning for the Elderly.

What is Source?
This refers to where the prospective volunteers have heard about your organisation. It can be from Facebook, Instagram, Websites or Direct mailer. This information let you know where to find more of your volunteers.

What is Training Courses?
This refers to the training courses that your organisation require your volunteers to attend. Eg. First Aid Training, CPR + AED Training.

What is Skillsets?
This refers to skills that your organisations are looking for in volunteers. Example, you need volunteers with skill in haircutting for an elderly hair cutting session.

What is Supported Causes
This refers to the social causes that your organisation supports. This information helps to match your organisation and your programs to a volunteer supporting the same causes. Eg. Matching a volunteer that support Elderly care to projects involving elder beneficiaries.
